I’ve never kept it a secret that I live to accessorize. I’m the type of girl who feels naked when she steps out of the house without the works – necklace, rings, bracelet, bag. Like today. I feel naked today because I forget my necklace, so instead I’m shopping pretty things on Etsy. I’m a huge fan of handmade and unique jewelry as opposed to the costume crap you can find at Forever 21 (Although, there is a whole lot of that in my closet. Who can resist a good trend?) and Etsy is definitely the place where you’ll find the biggest diversity of options. So, instead of keeping them a secret, I wanted to share some of my favorites with you!
It’s that time of year again where chubby babies with arrows and disgusting heart-shaped candies abound. Yuck. I think I’ve made my stance on the whole Valentine’s Day nonsense clear before and, in case you were wondering, it hasn’t really changed. Maybe I’m just romantically challenged, I don’t know. But what I do know is every year for Valentine’s Day, I technically have a Valentine and I always ask to receive nothing, because I don’t want anything. Seriously. I definitely sit firmly in the “you should show your special person that you think they’re special all year long” boat. So Valentine’s Day is just crowded, noisy, and annoying. But if you know someone like me and still insist on getting them a present (you sweet-hearted soul, you), then I pulled together a list of acceptable gifts for romance haters, like myself 😉
7 Best Valentine’s Day Gifts for People Who Hate Valentine’s Day
Oh boy, the holidays are here and with that comes the most stressful part – what do I buy? Shopping for other people can be stressful if you’re not sure what to get someone. Like in my case, if you live with someone who very particular about everything and only has 2 hobbies that he likes to do. It can be frustrating to hunt for clues, so to help myself and anyone else out there with a difficult man on their list, I put together this list of useful gifts that anyone would use – even if it’s maybe not totally their style.
I know you don’t want to hear it (neither do I), but you can’t deny it. The mornings are getting cooler and the days are getting shorter – fall is just around the corner. Now, while I hate saying goodbye to summer (repeat: HATE), there are a few things I love about the 2-3 weeks of fall that we get here in Chicago. 1. Leaves changing color, because let’s face it people, that’s just freaking gorgeous. 2. Hot beverages: Don’t get me wrong, I love a good iced coffee, but there’s nothing like a nice hot mocha to kickstart your day. 3. Boots! I’m a boot fanatic. It’s a problem. Like the boy had to sit me down and tell me that I can’t buy any more boots unless I get rid of some. I didn’t listen, obviously, but it did make me aware that maybe I am a little boot crazy. So, for fall I’m always excited to see what new boots are coming out and how many I can add to my closet. (Answer: not a lot, I am kinda running out of room. Does the attic count as a closet?)
Oh heck yes, y’all. It’s been about a year since I last got to take a vacation and never have the boy and I been able to go on one together, so, needless to say, I am beyond excited that we get to do that soon! We’re going on a little week trip to Tennessee to check out Nashville and go camping in the great Smoky Mountains – with mountains…and bears. I’m a little nervous because it’s been years since I last went camping and never with anyone except my parents (and never where there were bear warnings!), but I’m really excited to get out of this stinky city for a while and see some mountains and waterfalls. Obviously, I’ve been planning and plotting what to wear and what to bring for weeks and I’m not bringing everything below, but I found some really cute camping gear as I was putting together my list. So, since I have camping on my mind, here are a few adorable camping themed thing I love!
